Banana bread is the first thing I learnt how to bake all on my own as a pre-teen. This recipe is very straight forward and super easy to follow for children who are looking to be more independent in the kitchen or mums in need of a quick treat for tea or school snacks.
To jazz up the recipe, try toasting the slices of banana bread under the grill for 6 to 7 minutes, spread some maple butter on top and serve.
Easy Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 Ripe bananas
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla bean extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
Recipe
- Preheat oven to 180 Celsius.
- Peel and mash the bananas in a bowl.
- Sift the dry ingredients together.
- In an electric mixer, combine the eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla. Add the mashed bananas until well mixed.
- Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well.
- Pour into a greased and lined loaf tin and bake for 45 min or till a skewer inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
