2) Remembering Faiz: A tribute by Theatre Wallay (Islamabad)

Check out The Farm this Friday for an evening dedicated to the incomparable Faiz Ahmed Faiz. The programme will include bilingual readings of classic pieces by Faiz as well as musical renditions of Faiz’s poetry by two Islamabad based musicians, Ammar Rashid and Sarkash.

3) Mandwa Screens: 1967 Pakistani hit film “Insaniyat” by Lok Virsa – National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage

Join the at the Mandwa Film Club this Saturday (21st October at 6.00 pm) for the screening of the Pakistani super hit film “Insaniyat (1967)”. “Insaniyat” was the first blockbuster for Shabab Productions-which would dominate the Pakistan film industry till the 80’s.

Storyline: A young couple (Waheed Murad and Zeba) fall in love and vow to marry once Waheed Murad finishes his medical studies abroad. Zeba is forced to marry Tariq Aziz by her parents. When Waheed Murad finds out about this betrayal he is heartbroken. Years later Zeba’s husband is brought to Waheed Murad’s hospital in a terminal condition leaving both Zeba and Waheed Murad distraught.

4) Sachal Orchestra Lahore Live in Concert by Sachal Studios (Lahore)

Experience the innovate fusion of jazz and bossa nova in a heartwarming LIVE performance by the Sachal Jazz Ensemble in Lahore. This is part of the brilliant #HeritageNow event organised by the British Council.

5) Art + Life Pop Up Sachal Orchestra Lahore Live in Concert by Marina Home & The Paint Bucket (Lahore)

6) The Karachi Biennale! by KB17 (Karachi)

The Karachi Biennale is finally here! Taking place in Karachi from October 22nd till November 5th – Mark your calendars people as KB17 is taking art out of the galleries and taking the country by storm! Showcasing brilliant talent with multiple events throughout the city of Karachi, just the type of innovation needed to showcase the talent in a country bursting at the seams with creativity.

7) Heritage Now by ‎‎Walled City of Lahore Authority – والڈ سٹی لاہور اتھارٹی‎ and British Council Pakistan (Lahore)

Heritage Now is a two-day festival that celebrates and reflects upon the cultural heritage of Pakistan. The festival will bring together professionals from Pakistan and various other countries to discuss pressing issues facing the museums and heritage sector in Pakistan through conversation, performance and art.

The weekend event hosts many activities from panel discussions, exhibitions, and art-based activities for children – providing an opportunity for people of all ages and interests to interact with Pakistans heritage.

8) MUSHK! (Islamabad)

Starring Sania Saeed and Nimra Bucha, OLOMOPOLO Media presents Mushk! A thrilling piece of Urdu theatre with a plot brimming with secrets, love, lies and so much more. We can’t wait to watch this performance.

10) October Farmers Market by Khalis Food Market (Lahore)
