1. Pakistan’s Hidden Gems by Olomopolo Media & Aks International Minorities Festival

The 2018 edition of Aks International Minorities Festival is showcasing the works of Bilal Minto, Kanwal Khoosat, and Kalid Gill.  The festival will present Khoosat’s film Ao Kahani Buntey Hain (2011) which was banned for broadcast on PTV for its daring and atypical characterization. It is one of the finest hidden cinema gems of Pakistani off-beat films. You miss this, you miss out.

2. Weekend Trip to snowy Nathia Gali and Mushkpuri by the Mad Hatters

Long Week?  Join the Mad Hatters for a weekend retreat to Mushkpuri & Nathia Gali. Just above Dunga Gali, Mushkpuri should be a delight with its spectacular views and snow-capped mountaintops. Nathiagali should be enticing with its charm and beauty.

3. THP Movie Night by the Happieee Place

THP brings you another exciting movie night.  This time they are taking you on an adventure fantasy ride with Tarsem’s “the fall” (2006).  Based on 1981’s Bulgarian screenplay, the movie is a mad folly, an extravagant visual treat, a free-fall from reality into uncharted realms.  There will never be another like it. Grab your friends and family and have a perfect Friday movie night.

4. Jo Baat Hai? By Usman Mazhar

After a successful run at Napa’s Laughter Fest, Usman Mazhar is back in town. Join him as he talks about the Pakistani pop culture, nostalgia, personal experiences and a lot more rib-tickling stories.

5. Dastak – Abid Hasan by ArtKaam Gallery
Watch out Karachi, Abid Hasan is a painter with an inquisitive mind. He presents an imagery which is aesthetically satisfying and intriguing for his viewers.  He is showcasing “Dastak”- a collection of very unusual artworks by the artist. ArtKaam gallery is the place to be for a fine art experience!

6. Arzu Centre: Zambeel Dramatic Readings present Shatranj ki Baazi by Habib University

Based on Munshi Premchand’s “Shatranj ke Khiladi”, the narrative centres on the “Jaagirdaars” and their obsession with chess! It’ll be exciting to see the dramatical rendition of the famous text which tackles political and social conditions of Awadh in innovative ways.

7. Coke Fest Karachi 2018 by FoodFest

Calling out all KARACHIITES! CokeFest brings you a weekend full of entertainment and lots of food- all under one roof! Featuring live performances by an all-star lineup of Pakistani musicians. Miss it and miss out.

9. Eat, Shoot, Share: A Food Photography Workshop | Lahore by British Council Pakistan

10. THP Jam & Pie Night by The Happieee Place

Jam & Pie Night at THP is a tri-annual event; a platform for local artists looking to showcase their music in a safe environment. The first Jam & Pie night of the year will be featuring Janat Sohail Aziz & her solo project Wooly and the Uke. Accompanying her on the instruments shall be Faraz Aamer Khan and Asim Ali Noon. Tiffin will be intervening with Jam Pies while having a Jam, So don’t miss!

11. Farhan Saeed Live At FC Lahore

12. Spotlight-Humari Game by Spotlight

14. Karachi Accueil & Alliance Française present voice of the Sufis

15. Women International Film Festival (WIFF) 2018 by PNCA

With the support of the European Union Cooperation in Pakistan, Women Through Film is hosting and curating an exciting film festival, that will screen some of the most resonant and thought-provoking films made by talented independent filmmakers from around the world, purveying important messages on gender equality, women & child rights, and telling stories of inspiring women.

16. PechaKucha Nights Islamabad by Kuch Khaas

If you want to learn about the art of concise presentations, you should head to Kuch Khaas this Saturday to attend Pecha Kucha Night. The PechaKucha Night network is an international network which offers a platform to young people to share their work and ideas in a relaxed environment. The Islamabad chapter will look at architecture and design forms which are an integral part of our lives.

17. Mandwa Screens: Hitchcock Classic “North by Northwest (1959)” by Lok Virsa

18. Kashish Global Short Films by Aks International Minorities Festival

19. Smart City: The Hackathon by Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship – ITU

20. Lyari: A Prison without Wall by Ali Gul Pir and the Grid

This Sunday you are in for a treat! The Grid is screening a gem that portrays the life of “Lyari”-an oldest area of Karachi.  The film is a reflection of dilemmas of life and is not to be missed by the movie buffs. What’s more, the event will be hosted by Ali Gul Pir.

21. Tiny Tales: Podna aur Podni ki Kahani | Karachi by British Council Pakistan

Spend the Sunday with your young ones at the British Council library for a delightful South Asian folktale. Podna aur Podnay ki Kahani is a story that has charmed generations of children in the past and continues to do so today. There will be a picture story book with an audio recording and a game based on the story so that this tale can be enjoyed thoroughly by the young participants.

22. Body Flow Asana Clinic by Hassan Najam

A Yoga workshop is for everyone to get fit, have fun and balance! Mantaha brings you a Yoga workshop “Body Flow”, which will help you master the shortcomings that you may be facing in your yoga practice.   The workshop will cover the basics of Ashtanga sequence, Arm Balance Training, and body flow asana clinic. We believe it will be great for people who want to start yoga.

23. Women in Business Festival 2018 by Womenx Pakistan and Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry
