Mystic Music Sufi Festival 2018 by Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop

Always start your weekend with a movie night. This Friday, “Samsara will be showing at the THP movie night. Samsara is one of the classics which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Movie Critics described it as a beautifully frustrating film.
“It was filmed over nearly five years in twenty-five countries on five continents and shot on seventy-millimetre format and output to digital format. Samsara transports us to the varied worlds of sacred grounds, disaster zones, industrial complexes, and natural wonders.” Begin your weekend with this thought-provoking film and little bites from the THP Tiffin.

12th Annual All Pakistan Drama Festival 2018 by DramaF
Celebrate student’s creativity and dramatic skills, and promote the art performance at the biggest dramatics competition hosted by “DramaF” from FAST-NUCES Lahore campus. The 12th Annual All Pakistan Drama Festival 2018 will host theatre performers from all over Pakistan and showcase some of the brilliant performances. It will surely be the biggest Drama Festival to be seen.

Karachi Literature Festival (KLF) by D-vi Organizers
One of the most anticipated annual literary festivals is back in Karachi and will commence from February 9-11. The 9th instalment of the three-day event is expected to include interviews, readings, and panel discussions with a diverse list of panellists. This time the participants will comprise of 30 international and 200 Pakistani authors with the likes of Anwar Maqsood, Amit Chaudhuri, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Sania Saeed, Sarmad Khoosat, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, Sheema Kermani, Amardeep Singh and Claire Chambers. It is truly an event for literary buffs, writers, students, and the general public.

Grand Opening of Music Hall and Museum Audio Tour by Lok Virsa
Lok Virsa pays homage to folk and traditional heritage by opening a “Music Hall” along with an excellent “Audio Tour of the Museum” to offer you a deeper look into Pakistans most iconic musicians. Join the launch event and celebrate Pakistan’s rich cultural history. The opening event is said to be bigger and better than ever with the likes of Ijaz Sarhadi (the only Sarinda player in Pakistan), Akbar Khan Khamiso, Alghoza Player, Bashir Lohar and Riaz, with Chimta and Dhol and Waseem Sakhi, with Rubab.

Dastan-e-Manto by Walled City of Lahore Authority
WCLA revives the beautiful art form of storytelling-Dastangoi. This Saturday head out to Chowk Wazir Khan and join Badar Khan who promises to bring Saadat Hasan Manto to life by conducting an Urdu storytelling session on the life and times of Manto. He will commemorate the great Urdu writer by recounting his unadulterated principles and hard-hitting short stories.

YATRA – Film Screening by Olomopolo Media
If you are a fan of historical documentaries as we are, you should check out the screening of YATRA (a documentary film by Umair Ahmad Khawaja) which will take place at the OLO Junction this Saturday. The film will be introducing the Sikh roots in the country followed by a Q&A session with the Director!

Double Bajao – Sikandar Ka Mandar & Roots Live by Kuch Khaas
