Monday 30th October 2017

1) Nairang Crafts Exhibition 2017 by Nairang Galleries (Lahore)

Nairang’s annual crafts exhibition is returning this month. Nairang is committed to and aims to promote the arts and crafts of our region. They will be exhibiting a variety of carpets, traditional furniture, souvenirs, ceramics, ornamental lights, art prints, and lots of pretty things for the home!

2) Hawa Mein Udta Jaye by Sanat Initiative (Karachi)

“Hawa Mein Udta Jaye”, a solo exhibition of works by Sajid Khan opens at Sanat Gallery on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Sajid Khan was born in Malakand, Pakistan in 1984 and currently lives and works in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Sajid graduated from National College of Arts Lahore with a distinction in miniature painting in 2011. His works have been exhibited in Germany, UK and Pakistan. “Hawa Mein Udta Jaye” is Sajid’s second solo presentation.

3) 1 Minute Film Festival by Ramsha Aqeel (Islamabad)

Calling all aspiring filmmakers! This is the second 1-minute film festival organised by the Film Society under the Department of Design and Architecture at COMSATs. This event is going to be held during student week, so pop in, make friends and appreciate the arts from your peers perspective.

4) Color by Hamra Abbas at Canvas Gallery (Karachi)

Internationally acclaimed artist Hamra Abbas exhibits her new series of works “Color” at Canvas Gallery.

“COLOR is a selection of new works that explore the motifs of interpretation and intervention through the phenomenology of color—color as race, color as gender, color as religion.”

5) Back to the Movies presents: Fright Night by CityFM89 (Karachi)

Come in costume, howl and scream, watch a movie of spirits and evil dreams! Bring your blanket, your friends you will need, for it is the night to trick or to treat, a night filled with film and feast!

Join the team from City FM89 to celebrate the scariest night of the year, with the first ever outdoor cinema movie fright night!

6) Halloween Screening of ZINDA LAASH (Dracula in Pakistan) 1967 by The Hot Spot Cafe (Islamabad)

If scary movies are your thing, then you have to check out Zinda Laash (Dracula in Pakistan, The Living Corpse, El Muerto Viviente) 1967 -Directed by Khawaja Sarfaraz). This is a special Halloween screening  (with English Subtitles), go and get your scare on but book quickly because seats are selling out fast!

 7) BLOCK SEVEN AUTUMN 2 DAY EXHIBIT by TXB and Block Seven (Lahore) 

BLOCK SEVEN returns to Lahore on the 1st & 2nd of November at Tehxeeb, next to Lahore Chatkharay, Mini Market, with the very latest trends in western clothing and jewellery for women. Silk and georgette tops, cotton button downs, chiffon blouses, jersey knitwear,  jackets, scarves, pants and so much more!

8) Embodied Experience by Taseer Art Gallery (Lahore)

In a city known for nurturing artistic talent, we are committed to showing innovative young artists whose aesthetic is the forecast of art. TAG presents ‘Embodied Experience’ a showcase by Natasha Malik, Zara Asgher and Wasif Afridi.

9) Distorted Paradigms by Satrang Art Gallery (Islamabad)

Satrang Gallery presents Distorted Paradigms, new works by Mamoona Riaz & Farrukh Adnan.

This exhibition presents multilayered, exquisitely crafted pieces inspired by fragments, memories and impressions of locations that have impacted these two artists. The resulting works exude a delicacy which mirrors the fragility of the encounters they represent.

10) “Ladies Night” at the Stars Club (Karachi)

This film themed restaurant is super fun! They’ve set up a regular ladies night (every Thursday). Stars Club will be hosting karaoke sessions, movie nights and a brilliant open mic ‘Funkaar Platform’ that shouldn’t be missed.

p.s. Men and women are both welcome, but as it’s Ladies Night, the gals get special treatment!

12) Sikandar Ka Mandar – Live at True Brew by True Brew Records (Lahore)

Karachi based indie-rock band Sikandar Ka Mandar are bringing their signature vibe to the True Brew stage once again. Known for their self-titled debut album, SKM will be playing previous hits as well as unreleased new material. First of many gigs to come!

13) Originality And Tradition By Dr Lisa Delong by VM Centre for Traditional Arts (Karachi)

‘Originality’ means ‘from the origin’, returning to first principles as well as cultural and artistic roots, nurturing them and bringing forth new shoots. It is this understanding of originality which enables the students at the to create contemporary arts through living traditions.

14) Karachi Comedy Club in Lahore! by Kickstart Cafe and Karachi Comedy Club (Lahore)

On Friday 3rd November Shehzad Ghias Shaikh and upcoming comedian and theatre star Usman Mazhar will be coming to Lahore for one night to show us comedy done right.
